UK prosecutors is dropping the assault case against "Dark Knight" star Christian Bale, citing insufficient evidence, the Daily Mail revealed.

"Whilst the CPS treats all incidents which take place in a domestic context seriously, it is important that the views of complainants are also taken into account when making decisions in such cases. Taking all the factors into consideration, the decision has been taken that there is insufficient evidence to afford a realistic prospect of conviction, and accordingly the police have been advised that no further action should be taken against Mr Bale," a spokesman for the prosecutors said.

His mother and sister filed assault charges on July 20 against Bale, claiming the actor went out of line at his Dorchester Hotel suite the night before the UK premiere of "The Dark Knight."

Apparently, Bale's mother made some disparaging remarks about his wife, which he didn't like.
