*Update* 'Dead' Baby Lives After Spending Time In Hospital Morgue But Loses The Fight

Faiza Magdoub *Update: The baby passed away Tuesday morning* An Israeli couple went through an emotional roller coaster when first they were told the news that their baby girl, born prematurely, was dead, but only to discover that she is alive five hours later.

According to the account in the Jerusalem Post, 26-year-old Faiza Magdoub went into premature labor and gave birth to a baby girl. The doctor at the scene told them that their baby is dead and is taken to the morgue.

Wanting to see their dead baby a final time, they head back to the hospital morgue.

"When we unwrapped the baby to see her, she realized it was moving. I began screaming and ran with it toward the doctors," Ali Majdub, the baby's father said.

The baby is in intensive care now, but she's not out of danger quite yet. According to a hospital spokesman Ziv Farber, a baby with her weight and age only has a 10 percent chance of surviving, but he does have reason to be optimistic.

"We had a baby weighing only 580 grams, and she survived," Farber said.

An investigation may be underway to determine whether the doctor made an error when he declared the baby dead.

Update 8/20/2008:
The baby, named Bana Hiba by their parents, passed away at 5:15 AM Tuesday.
