M. Night Shyamalan's "The Last Airbender" In Theaters July 2, 2010
"The Last Airbender," M. Night Shyamalan's next movie after "The Happening" will be in theaters July 2, 2010, Paramount announced this Wednesday morning.
"Airbender" is a live-action movie based on Nickelodeon's animated series about a young man named Aang who has the ability to manipulate all four elements: air, water, fire and earth. He is joined in his quest to unite his war-torn world by Katara and her brother, Sokka.
"I was drawn to the series because of its influences: one being Hayao Miyazaki," said Shyamalan. "I've always been a huge fan of Miyazaki's work. He is one of the greatest storytellers in the world and makes anime films in Japan. His combination of spirituality and super natural elements have brought depth and meaning to his art form. In 'The Last Airbender,' I see an opportunity to make a live-action version of a Miyazaki film."

Just hopefully this Movie will turn out good.
As a fan, the Actors have to SUIT!! The character that they play. It would be ashame if the Movie would turn out to be rated 3/10.

Azula HAS! To be Ruthless. she is the greatest and the best villain i have ever seen!! Other than Joker, Her Voice suits her perfectly and Her actions very well tells her what she really is. Just wish that she would be exactly the same in the movie

I'm kinda discouraged about having too much white people. why won't they try having alot more asian. go find actors from asian counties. we might like it.^_^

Cliff Curtis playing Ozai is
Cliff Curtis playing Ozai is cool as hell. I know he wont let me down. I don't know this kid playing Aang but he fits. I just hope that his martial arts is good cause that will ruin the role. I like the character of Uncle, I hope the dude playing him is dry in his jokes as uncle is in the series. Gotta love that Iroh. Jackson wont let me down with Sokka cause "sokka" is a doofus... Toph will be pretty hard to cast as well as Azula. I wanna play "Combustion Man" oh yeah... The Series is awesome regardless of how the movies turn out.

I am not happy with the
I am not happy with the selection of actors for Zuko, aang, Katara, and Sokka. The water benders are supposed to look more indian looking not white. The actor for Zuko looks Korean, Zuko is as white as white can get, man. And even if the actor looks like aang he looks way too young, he looks like a five year old.

I agree that aang does look a bit you for the part but if you look back at the series aang looks younger then the rest of the characters. The series is good but like all movies that try to copy a series this one will be a disappointment...regardless of the fact i will still see it and i hope that i am proven wrong
