More "Indiana Jones" After "Crystal Skull"

Even though "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" (whew!) won't open in theaters until May 22, there're already talks of a potential sequel.

However, that'll only happen if the box office returns are good.

Speaking at a press conference at Cannes where "Crystal Skull" already made its world debut, director Steven Spielberg had this to say when asked if there'll be another Indiana Jones:

"Only if you want more. That's why we made this Indiana Jones. We'll certainly have our ear to the ground to hear what happens. That'll decide were we go from here."

Despite some mixed reviews coming from Cannes, success of "Crystal Skull" is almost a given. People are going to see this the latest installment of this beloved franchise regardless of the reviews. As of this writing, it has a Tomatometer of 80%.

Here's an analysis I did regarding the average box office take of the previous three movies. If the trend holds true, "Crystal Skull" will no doubt end up a moneymaker for Speilberg et al.

George Lucas already has an idea what will be in the next movie.

"I have an idea to make Shia [LeBeouf] the lead character next time and have Harrison [Ford] come back like Sean Connery did in the last movie. I can see it working out," Lucas told Fox News.

As for Spielberg making an Indiana Jones movie without Harrison Ford, this is what he had to say in an interview:

"Making a Indiana Jones movie without Harrison Ford will just be like eating a hamberger without the hamberger. It wouldn't taste very good...I will never make an Indiana Jones movie without that brilliant man."
