Bo Derek, the actress best know for the 1979 movie "10," has been appointed to the California Horse Racing Board by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, according to the Associated Press
.
In case you think the Governator is filling government posts with his Hollywood buddies, which he probably is, Bo Derek does have the qualifications for the job.
She's a long-time animal activist and the author of the book "Riding Lessons: Everything That Matters in Life I Learned from Horses."
If confirmed by the state Senate, she'll get $100 per day and her responsibilities will include supervising horse races in California as well as enforcing laws and regulations pertaining to these races.
Don't worry; she won't be the only one on the job. She will have six fellow board members on the job along with her.
