In an attempt to control rampant corruption in the government, China has amended a law to make it easier to prosecute the family members and lovers who took advantage of their relationship with government officials for monetary gains.
"Spouses and children of and/or people who have 'intimate relations' with corrupt officials could be jailed for more than seven years if they are found guilty of taking advantage of such officials' positions to get bribes or make money illegally," according to Reuters, citing a report in the China Daily.
